INITIAL IDEAS - DEVELOPMENT WORK
My initial ideas were inspired by the artwork popular artist Disclosure, as I was drawn to the geometric and linear design. Although I didn't want my own work to appear as if I have copied completely, so I tried to give it my own unique twist, experimenting with line work and exaggerating features.

To give my work more context, I decided that I should base the mask on myself. Highlighting and exaggerating my main features, such as having large eyes and a tiny mouth. I also decided that I should make the head as large as I can possibly make it, as it contrasts with my own tiny head so will add an element of humour to final photograph.

When making my final mask, I decided that I should use black paint on white card, as the fine liner marks would be lost in my final photograph due to the large scale. It also stands out more against the white, making the overall composition bold and eye catching. I also changed the original design, as I thought that I needed to create a more abstract composition, making the huge eyes the main focus of the mask and including more linear areas.
Overall I think that the final outcome worked quite well, as the hilarity of the massive head adds an element of humour to the photo which was my intention. I also like how the range of thicknesses work well contrasting together to create an abstract composition. Although, if I could do it again I would have more smaller linear areas rather than fewer larger ones, as it would of created more texture as well as making it more abstract.
