When given the summer project brief, I honestly didn't know where to begin. So instead of staring blankly at my first page of my sketch book I decided to flick through my holiday snaps to gain some inspiration of what kind of narratives I wanted to illustrate. I also looked back to my previous work to see what kind of styles and techniques worked best for me, as well as what artists inspire me most.
So after a spider diagram or two, I decided to choose paper cutting, as I have done this method before and thought that it gives a professional finish and I also really enjoy the process. The only thing that I do regret about choosing this method is that it is very time consuming, so I didn't manage to complete all ten illustrations, but I wanted to put effort and care into my work.
