STUDY 1 - TASK 1
Walking around drawing quick images based on 10 themes:

When drawing we had to focus on line and shape, avoiding censorship and working fast in either A3 or A4 sketchbooks. I personally didn't really enjoy this task, as I like spending time on one drawing inside and not quickly sketching outside. This is because I'm too precious towards my work and like to spend lots of time over it, so this really wasn't my kind of style to work in.
Although I tried to experiment using repetition, repeating the same image until it became more proportionally correct. I also like how the composition can totally change when repetitively drawing the same object.
I chose to repetively draw the different types of horns, as I thought that they are quite an unnoticed object with a unique form which no one really thinks about drawing.
Predictable horse drawing - but I wanted to experiment with contrasting line work
Focusing on the pattern work of the butterfly wing, exploring the variety of line work and composition
I don't think that I put enough effort in this task. Because drawing on the move is something that I don't really enjoy, I think I gave up before I even gave it a proper go. I'm annoyed at myself for doing this, because all part of visual language is to try new things that you wouldn't normally do or enjoy. Next time I want to embrace new tasks thrown at me, so I can improve my practice as an illustrator.
