>I started with googling what an event poster actually looks like, even though I've seen them before I've never really stopped and thought about the layout or colour or what makes it such a good events poster. This is also leaning more towards the graphic design area, which, is completely unknown to me.
>I then thought it best to jot some ideas down for what kind of event I could do. I thought that it might be good to try and attempt something with humour in, because I've never really entered that realm yet so would be something new and different for me. I then decided to chose an event that was something that the Native americans weren't well known to have done - a fitness gym class.

>I looked at some silhouettes of classic stretch gym class poses to make it obvious what the events poster was going to be about. I then thought that I should try something totally new and experiment using photoshop - again another thing that I've never done before. TRYING SOMETHING NEW

>I used textures from objects that I found in my room that varied in shape and colour and what I thought would work best together to create an interesting outcome. I also used found imagery online of native american people that were unknowingly going to be the stars of my events poster.

>After a bit of practice using the paste special tool, I started creating the main focus of the events poster. I was quite happy with the textures that I used, especially the teddybear for the majority of the outfit because it's something different and really makes the outfit look touchable. Also the choice of pose is really dynamic and a bit strange, which would make you want to look at it for longer.

>Annoyingly, I didn't take many screen shots when making this for reasons that I don't understand. It makes it harder to show the process but I was too focused trying to get the grips of what photoshop actually is that screen shooting didn't even cross my mind.
>I am quite happy with the result. It's different and a bit funny which is nothing like my usual work, so I'm pleased that it looks like something that I wouldn't normally produce. I'm also glad that I've tried using a new process, as I did actually enjoy using a computer instead of handcrafting. Although what I found when using photoshop is that it gives you too many options. I found that it took myself almost twice as long to create this than if I made it by hand with it's extraordinary palette of colours to choose from and crazy amount of tools to work with - it made my head hurt. Even with this in mind, I still would like to explore photoshop in my future work, because of the varied amount of outcomes that you can create.
