OUIL505 5 Contemporary Artists

Jen Collins
>Uses her illustrations to create physical products - ceramics. I also have an interest in ceramics, particularly using my illustrative style.
>She also uses animals - mainly lions and tigers - I also like using animals a lot in my own work, and maybe think I could explore this further in the module?
>As well as these two things, I also sell very similar ceramics to Jen Collins

Tom Haugomat
>Illustration style very different to my own, but this is the kind of work that I would love to produce myself.
>Very conceptual, more so editorial - which isn't very me at all
>But he uses limited colour which I like to do myself
>Very contemporary - how I think current illustration looks like.

Owen Davey
>Books & Publishing - using simple vector shapes - this is another style which I really enjoy doing (shape work)
>Again, it is quite limited colour
>Publication is another area which I wouldn't mind looking into

Drew Millward
>Posters/Advertising - I think creating posters would be something that might be good for me to explore, because I do struggle with conceptual work, so if I tackle it then I could find out that I enjoy it. Although it might be a bit silly looking into something that I have no experience in, seeing as this module is about doing what you do best...
>Screen printing process - after doing 504, I really enjoyed doing screen printing and although it drove me crazy, I would like to try it out again.

Laura Carlin
>Versatility - Laura Carlin's work is very versatile, as she makes products as well as doing editorial work. I think because I haven't got a definite fixed idea for the future, I think my work will end up being quite versatile too.
>Similar to Jen Collins, Carlin also does ceramics which I really want to look into in this module.
>Her style is also what I would love my own work to look like, I love how fragile and delicate it makes the composition feel.
